What to do in Viscri:
1. Visit the Fortified Church/ Biserica Fortificata
EN:
Part of the World Heritage Sites of UNESCO (1999), this is the most important attraction of the village. It was built during the 13th century, but had undergone many transformations and reconstructions over the years. It looks beautiful, and despite of becoming more popular, it’s still one of Transilvanya’s hidden gems.
Remember to climb the church tower for amazing views.

Biserica este cea mai populara atractie a satului si face parte din patrimoniul UNESCO (1999). A fost construita in secolul treisprezece, dar de atunci a trecut prin mai multe etape de transformare si reconstructie. Arata, insa, impecabil si chiar daca a devenit mai populara in ultimii ani, este inca una dintre comorile ascunse ale Transilvaniei.
Trebuie neaparat sa urci in turnul bisericii pentru o vedere minunata.
2. Wander the streets
EN:
Wander the streets and admire the beautiful traditional houses. You will most probably encounter some chicken, geese, cows or horses on your way.
RO:
Plimba-te pe strazi si bucura-ti privirea admirand casele traditionale. In drumul tau vei intalni gaini, gaste, vaci sau cai.
3. Have a delicious meal al Viscri 32
EN:
The food is amazing, prepared with fresh and bio local products. Also, the location is beautiful. I loved the tomato soup, the slow cooked pork, the sausages and the desserts. Can’t wait to return.
RO:
Mancarea este extraordinara, preparata cu ingrediente locale proaspete. Mi-au placut mult: supa de rosii, porcul gatit lent, carnatii si deserturile. De abia astept sa ma intorc.
4. Stay in a traditional house
EN:
Stay in a traditional house for a more authentic experience. There are not many accomodation options though. Check Prince Wales house, but make sure to book in advance because it is usually fully booked, months ahead.
RO:
Cazeaza-te intr-o casuta traditionala pentru o experienta autentica. Nu sunt insa foarte multe optiuni de cazare in zona. Vezi Casa Printului Wales, insa rezerva in avans, deoarece se poate sa fie totul rezervat cu mult timp inainte.
5. Shop for traditional objects
EN:
In Viscri you can shop handmade objects made by locals as socks, clothes, hats etc. Perfect souvenirs, if you ask me.
RO:
In Viscri poti cumpara obiecte realizate manual de catre localnici, precum: sosete, haine, caciuli, etc. Suveniruri perfecte, as zice eu.
